Vegan Chocolate-Hazlenut-Energy Balls

#Energyballlove. I like to challenge myself by "veganising" popular products. I think you can guess what I was trying myself on with this recipe. All the friends that agreed to be my testers found it pretty easy to tell. Can you figure it out too?

Amount for Energy Balls

  • 50 g hazlenuts
  • 50 g oatmeal
  • 1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g dates, pitted
  • 30 g hazlenut cream
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa nibs
  • 8 hazlenuts

Coating

  • 40 g Hazlenuts
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g vegan chocolate

Preparation

Click: 

  1. For the energy balls, put the hazelnuts, the cocoa powder and the salt in a mixer and grind to a powdery consistency.
  2. Then add the dates, hazelnut cream and cocoa nibs and mix them in until it reaches a crumbly, sticky consistency.
  3. Then shape the mixture into 8 flat circles and wrap a hazelnut in each one.
  4. For the coating, roughly grind the hazelnuts.
  5. Melt the chocolate with the salt and mix in the hazelnuts.
  6. Line a plate with baking paper. Now coat the balls in the chocolate, put them on the plate and cool for 10 minutes. Then, enjoy!
